Stayed at both….
Renaissance is very beautiful. In the middle of town so you don’t have to take a taxi to get around. Plenty of things to see and do. Boat ride to private island, how bad can that be?
Holiday Inn is nice, a lot busier hotel. On the beach, (did I say busy?) populated beach because it’s in the tourist high rise area. walking distance to the other hotels on the strip. local businesses in that area are more expensive because they can…they know we tourists are basically captive unless we rent a car/taxi and get out of the tourist area.
Best for you to decide:
do you want to lay on the beach all day to soak up the sun? and don’t mind paying extra for the entertainment? choose Holiday Inn Sun Spree
do you want to take a boat ride to the beach and have shopping, entertainment at a lesser price in walking distance? choose Renaissance.
Either hotel you decide on I guarantee you will be very happy.
